Video Overlay

Text / Logo / Image / Video Overlay

You can add customized text or image overlays to video during transcoding. Go to channel Advanced Video Settings > Overlay, select either a text string or an image file you prefer, and set its position on the video.

IPVTL Logo Overlay

Layer files can use popular image or video formats, such as JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, MP4, MOV, and TS. For transparent overlays, consider using PNG or GIF layer files.

You can also create dynamic layers by using an animated GIF file.

To display a timestamp overlay, enter %timestamp as the overlay text.

Note: Video overlay processing occurs on the CPU, not the GPU. Therefore, full GPU transcoding is not available for channels with video overlays.

Hardcode or Burn DVB Subtitles on Video

To hardcode or burn DVB subtitles onto a video stream (for example, when using RTMP), rather than passing it as a separate stream, go to IPVTL's Advanced Format Settings > Custom Options tab > Target Options box and enter:
"-filter_complex '[0:v][0:s]overlay[v]' -map [v]"
